Updated: Sep 12, 2019

Your wedding day will be one of the most important days of your life. Wouldn't you want to make sure that you look and feel your very best? Here are some quick and easy steps to remember when preparing for your big day.

Basic Skin Care Routine

Cleansing, toning, and moisturizing should regularly be done in the weeks leading up to your wedding day. This will keep your skin glowing and youthful. A clean and dirt-free face will help keep your pores open. This will help your skin to breathe better. Follow up with toning that will help tighten the pores. Toning also reduces fine lines to some extent. Lastly, moisturizing the face helps lock in the moisture into the pores, keeping your skin soft and supple. Schedule your complimentary skin consultation today so that we can find the right skin care products for you.

Exfoliate

Exfoliation is one of the best ways of getting skin that is free from dead skin cells. Make sure that you exfoliate your skin before or combined with your face wash two or three times a week. A harsh exfoliant can irritate the skin and give you rashes so be sure to book a FREE skin consultation to see which exfoliant is the right one for you. You can shop now for a variety of exfoliants available by Dermalogica.

Book a facial or series of facials with a trusted Esthetician aka ME!

Start getting monthly facials at least three to six months before the wedding. If you have less time left in hand, opt for a bi-weekly mini facial. Book Now

*I commonly recommend not getting a facial in the week leading up to your wedding as it may bring blemishes to the surface.

Clinical Spa Treatments

If you have too much sun damage, scars or acne, then clinical spa treatments will be your gateway to getting a spot-free skin in a shorter amount of time. Microdermabrasion treatments, micro needling, hydra facials, infrared and IPL treatments from professional aestheticians are also a good fix for scars and blemishes. Start your treatments at least six months for optimal results.

Beautiful Hands and Feet

Keep your hands and feet soft by massaging olive oil on them before going to sleep at night. This will get rid of the dry skin on your hands and feet. During bathing, make sure that you use a pumice stone on your feet.

Polished nails of both hands and feet give an added appeal to your look. You must certainly maintain clean and polished nails through bi-weekly or monthly manicures and pedicures.

If you need recommendations on where to go, I will be happy to give you some suggestions.

Hair Removal

Keep yourself well groomed. This applies to your legs and underarms at the very least. In addition, you will want to keep your eyebrows in shape. Sudden hair removal of any part of the body can give you small an antihistamine like reaction where the skin swells and become red. In addition it may cause small scabs to form if any fluid secretion occurs as a result of trauma to the skin.

It is never recommended to get waxed just before your wedding so be sure to book this appointment at least a week in advance. *If you are looking to have your face and body professionally waxed, please only used licensed estheticians like myself. Book Now

Diet

You must drink enough water to keep your body toxin-free. Aim for at least 8-10 glasses of water a day. Opt for coconut water or lime water to shed the bloat. Eat a balanced diet consisting of fruits, green vegetables, and protein.

Avoid munching on junk food like chips, chocolate, ice creams, or sodas. They can lead to bloating and more importantly skin problems. It’s ok to have a few cheat days, but keep them in check. Opt for healthy and nutritious snacks like fruits and sprouts.

It is essential to provide the body with antioxidants and minerals in order to have healthy and glowing skin. Lack of vitamins or minerals leads to nail and hair breakage and sallow appearance of the skin (makes it look ashy or yellow). For flawless skin, consult your doctor or dietitian to fill any nutritional gaps.

You can also download easy to use apps to keep a track of your water and food intake if you are a tech junkie like me.

Sleep

Sleep is absolutely vital to ensuring a lower level of stress and healthy looking skin. Lack of sleep can give you dark circles under your eyes. I'm happy to do some color correction for you but wouldn't you rather not need it?!

Massage

This is not absolutely necessary but if you want to take some time off from planning your wedding then you can get a massage. Try not to go overboard, and hour will do. A nice relaxing massage will put your mind and your body back on track. If you need recommendations for excellent massage therapy, I have I can recommend.
